Wool...Dye...Yarn

This post would of course be more interesting if I had pictures or it wasn't 11 at night and my brain is functioning normaly but it doesn't and my brain is half awake. Anywhoo-Wool is for the Wool festival in Estes Park that I went to on Saturday. It was fun seeing all the animals that yarn comes from. I am in love with the sheep. I was completly unaware that sheep literaly said "BAA!" I could not stop laughing after the first BAA! The llamas scared me because I didn't want to get spit on. I got two lovely things of roving. One is purples and white and the other is greens and purple (pics coming soon).

Dye- Today my mother and I had a dye day. WHOO! I got to dye some Faulkland roving. I decided to do blue, purple, and red. The colors were a smudge dull but I still love it because its the first thing I have ever dyed. Yarn- I have finished my very first skein of yarn. It isn't insanly horrible I am very glad to say. I am very proud of it. I just can not wait untill I start spinning 1 in July. It is now 11:30 and I am quite tired, so I am going to jam to my ipod until I fall asleep.

My first pair of socks, I am sad to say, have died. After knitting a majority of the foot, I realized they were too big for my feet. Shortly after frogging 4 inches of my lovely socks, I tried to restart. I went down a needle size and casted on less stitches, but became very frustrated with the cast on process. I tried 3 times before violently throwing them into my knitting bag with no progress to show, which I might add was very frustrating.

Because of my failed attempted at restarting my socks, I have been working on my blanket. I have the first row and two squares on my second row finished. I have already fallen in love with this blanket and cannot wait until it is finished. One of the squares on the other hand is 15 inches when the squares are 12 x 12. I will end this paragraph with a loud, angry, "GRRR!"

Tomorrow is off to the wool festival with my mom. I am so excited to go because this year I will be able to pick out roving for my to begin spinning. I start a beginner spinning class in Boulder on July 17. I am stoked! My mom has shown me the very basics of spinning but I am no where near as good as I want myself to be. Any who, I am sure tomorrow will be stellar.

My First Pair of Socks

I need to get better at blogging, that is a fact. I have been doing some knitting but not an insane amount. I have started my first pair of socks, which of course I am happy about. The pictures are out of order because I am not used to adding pictures or blogging for that matter because it has been about a year. lol. Any whoo the second picture is the yarn my mom spun after I picked the colors and carted on the drum carter. I am knitting them from the toe up (as seen in picture number 1) and in stockinette stitch. I am absoulutly in love with how they are turning out. YEAHH! More blogging tommorrow. :))

Skunks n' Bikes don't mix.

I haven't posted for awhile, (that's a shocker!). I finally finished my pillow. I still have to sew it together and but the fabric and stuffing in. I'll get to that....eventually. Me and my best friend got sprayed by a skunk...Oh what fun that was! We were riding our bikes home from McDonalds and we got stuck behind a skunk. At the risk of being late home, we gunned it. Unfortunately, just as we rode past, up went the tail, out came the stench, and then we smelled the worst I ever have. We called home and were told to not enter the house. We had to go through a lovely tomato shower, the we got rinsed off with my best friend...the freezing cold hose...what fun! After that we still smelled HORRIBLE! So my step dad ran to the grocery store and bought the items for the new treatment. It was hydrogen peroxide, baking soda and dish soap. WoW did THAT burn. But it did remove the lovely smell. With only a few rashes and burns we were happy good smelling campers.

Any who back to knitting. My new project is a blanket. It is made of three colors. Which three? Hmmm lets thinks, my favorite colors are....brown and blue! Yes my blanket is brown, light blue, and dark blue. The pattern is very purrty. It is made up of stockinette stitch, cables, seed stitch, and stripes. The pattern was in a library book, so in order to remember what to do i had to sketch it out on my own. I wouldn't recommend anyone else trying to figure it out, but i can read it.

So far i have done uno square. It is the one of the light blue seed stitch squares. I want a big blanket so I made it 12' by 12'. It is going to be a HUGE blanket!

This is an upclose so you can see the seed stitch.

If you noticed on the square there is a tag that says 5,1. On the pattern I drew I made it a grid. The square i made is 5th square from the left, and the 1st one from the bottom. So now when i sew it together I will know where to sew it! The next square I'm making is a brown cable square.

Again upclose, so you can see the pattern. This is my first cable project, and i think im doing pretty good. Its alot easier than I thought. Which is ofcourse good.

Well I'm out for now. Tomorrow I'm off to Six Flags with my best friend. Hopefuly I'll get a little tanner. OK I'm out for now. Bye! ttyl

Yes I am a tad hyper, as I am typing this but who gives a whoot? Not me! Anyway! So yeah I know I haven't posted in a gallizion bajillion years but who's counting?? Not me! So, I still haven't finished my amazing square, I mean pilliow. All I have to do is bind off, so thats technically done. I finished my spectatular leg warmers. Have I worn them you ask? No! As a matter of fact I haven't! But oh well. I will on Tuesday. What's on Tuesday you ask?(What's with all the questions) On Tuesday is my ice show rehearsal! I'm excited. So yeah! Ummmmmmmm......I'm trying to think of something that is knitting related, that is new in my life. Umm....my mother bought me some super duper yarn that I'm going to make a scarf out of. Ravelry!!!!

Guess who got invited to Ravelry?? Oh ya its me! I have already added one project! WHOO! And I'm in two groups. I'm so happy! I have some friends but no like ALOT of friends, but oh well I'm happy. Then were moving in to our new house this weekend! I get my own room, I get my own room, I get my own room! Whoo! (yes I'm doing a little happy dance) WHOO! lol!

I'm so mad because I had to restart the other side of my beautiful pillow because I cast on way to many stiches and I would totaly have to buy anonther ball. This time I only cast on 65 stiches and last time I cast on 80. So I'm hoping that this time it will work out, because I do not want to restart again. I was done with my first ball when I noticed I cast on too many stiches.
This is one of the new stich markers my mom made. They are a set of different color mushrooms. I was looking through her new catalog to help check for mistakes. When I saw this set I fell in love, I asked her if she could make me a pair and she handed me a set! The other colors are turquise and peach, light purple and peach, turquise and blue, and red and yellow. My mom calls me her hippy child so ofcourse the hippy chooses mushrooms out of anything else!

So this is the blue side to my pillow! It is super soft! I love it SO much! I can't wait untill it is done so I can use it. This is an up close of the stiches. I knit it on US 15s and I knit it for 14 inches.

Today we are getting a new roof on the house, so I woke up to hammers hitting the roof. What a lovely alarm clock right? Well I g2g! so...ttfn!

New House

So as you all probably know my family is moving into a new house! I'm so happy because I get my own bathroom! I've had to share with my older brother since before my little brother was born. Finally I'll get my own! So my room also has a walk in closet! Which is awesome! Also the new house is closer to one of my friend's house, but i haven't seen her forever! She left my school in 2ND grade, but she still lives in town so I've seen her now and again. It'll be cool living closer to her. I will also live closer to my school, so it won't be as far to walk. Our backyard backs up to one of my other friend's house so that is pretty sweet!

Any way, something about knitting, I'm almost done with one of the balls of yarn for my pillow! AHHH! I don't think I'll have enough yarn so I'll probably have to go to Knit Knack and buy an other one! They were only $3 so that's not bad at all, and I can probably get my mom to get it for me.

This weekend I've got to start packing my room, because we move at the begging of next month! I can't wait until we move! I'm so exited! I was just spell checking this post and I noticed I say PROBABLY alot! Sorry if it annoys you! I hate it when people say something alot! It's like URGGGGGG!!!! so...ttfn!

Computuer CRASHED!

This is my dream swatch as I was knitting it! I didn't get to add them eariler because I didn't really have the time to and I kind of didn't know how!

Okay...so my laptop is not working so I have to use my mom's. I finished my dream swatch.(FINALLY!) And I have started my pillow. What I'm using is a blue and brown yarn. I have no idea what they are but I know that the blue is merino. I'm knitting it in stochenite stitch. Ofcourse it matches my bedroom! But what dosen't?

I can not believe how much homework I have had lately! It is madness I tell you! We normally don't get homework in geography so that's cool! But we had a test on Friday, then in science we have a test tomorrow. In math we had a test today that was so long its going to take up tomorrow too! Then in Home EC. we cooked crumble cake today but sadly we won't be able to eat it until tomorrow because it took too long to bake so the class was over before we could eat it! THE SUSPENSE IS KILLING ME! It looks SO good!
Well this is my knitting blog not my complain about homework blog so I might as well talk about knitting. I think that's a good idea! I haven't really had time to knit wit homework and all so I'm still working on the dream swatch. I swear that thing never ends! I don't quite know what sweater pattern I'm going to use...so THAT'S not helpful! lol. I really try to make my blog interesting like everyone else's but I don't have as much time to knit so I hardly have any thing to write about. That is why I try to go a little while until I update my blog so I then have more to say! I'm thinking of starting a new pole so I debating what to do with that! I hope to see you at knitting tonight! I don't know where its at though! But I'll be there! so...ttfn!

URG!

So I have had like no time to knit latly! I'm totaly bummed! URG! Then I have had TONS of homework! It is crazy! In Geography we had a test today on culture, which was easy! And then in Science we had to draw crazy hard pictures of cells. Then in orchestra we have had different subsitutes everyday for two weeks! Then we have had the same song for 3 weeks! Then in, um lets see whats next...oh ya...l.a. we started a book project! Then in math we had a quiz and in home ec we have already cooked twice! In gym we started football and on the teams there has too be 3 7th graders and 3 8th graders. so thats cool i guess! It is crazy I tell you CRAZY!!!!!

Tomorrow I'm babysitting my little brother and my friend is coming over to hang out and help watch him. Then Saturday I'm starting ice skating again, then I'm going to the mall with her to shop, see a movie, and have lunch so thats gonna be fun. Again it's CRAZY!!!!!! At least my poll is done so after I knit my dream swatch and my scarf I'm making...(drum roll please) A SWEATER!!!!!well ttfn!

What A Week!

I have been so busy with school and homework I have had hardly any time to knit! I mean I've almost had home work in all my classes and its only the second week of school! OH WELL! Tomorrow is picture day so I've got to look extra pretty! I had fun at Knit Night at Knit Knack (say THAT 3 times fast)! My mom and I ventured over to Bliss for dessert. I had the brownie sundae. OMG! It was to die for! It had like 3 BIG brownies on it, the tons and tons or ice cream, then SMOTHERED in whip cream and chocolate! I definitely recommend it! Well since my pole is pretty much totally voted on, I think I'll be taking it down. It looks as if I will be knitting my self a lovely little sweater! I don't have much more to say so I will be posting this and getting off so...ttfn!

Another day Another POST!

So today i accompished many things. I had my first homework assigment. Yeah!(not) We had to write a descriptive paragraph about a messy room in our house. Drum roll please.(pssss!) And of course I chose my little brothers play room! Then I learned my reach class this year is a disaster! We have to fill out a form on what we are going to work on(eck) and if we are going somewhere we have to say why and where. At least my day ended on a happy note, I got to go to knitting group at lollicup! I have gotten very far on my dream swatch. It seems as if when you decrease the number of stiches you can knit it faster! WHO KNEW? So I'm about double as far as when I undid it all! I also worked on my scarf, I swear this thing will never be done! I have worked, worked, worked, worked, and you guessed it worked on this thing so much! If I ever have to do ribbing for this long again, I will take a knife and jab that pattern till it bleeds ribbing! I'm just kidding its not TO bad but its still a bore. I also worked on my dish cloth, this time I'm making one for my mom! It is the same yarn I used for my beach bag. Well its getting late and I have school tomorrow(yawn) so...ttfn!

Weekend Wonders

So this weekend I went to Knit Knack for Saturday knitting and I had a BLAST! I got to talk with many people and I enjoyed our conversations. Then I finished my wash cloth. I made it out of some sugar and cream yarn Nachelle gave to me.(I hope I spelled her name right!) And I also had to undo ALL of my dream swatch beacause it was WAY to wide. So I un-did it and I'm about to where I left off. I also worked on my ribbed scarf. I wanted it to be sort of different so I did the ribbing k4, p2 and on the back p4, k2. I think I did 24 stiches but I don't remeber! And then Saturday night my friend Kacey spent the night. We decided to watch a scary movie so we made a bed in front of the couch. Out of sleeping bags, blankets, and pillows! We kept screaming and hugging each other when ever something happend! We watched Disturba, it was REALLY scary! Then since we were so scared we did yoga off of on-demand. That totaly relaxed us so we started to do belly dancing but we sucked so we stopped. lol. This morining we woke up and watched Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Brad Pitt and Angolina Jolie. It was funny! Sadly Kacey had to go home early so I went with my step dad to pick up my little brother. And now im reading blogs and going on Myspace! So...ttfn!

Ok so my 1st, 2nd, and 4th classes I had those teachers last year. And Mrs.Cambier is by far one of my favorite teachers! She is so so so nice! My teacher for reach/ELT is the school libraian so we have that class in the library. Reach/ELT is like home room or what ever. ELT stands for extra learning time so it's kinda like a study hall. Then home alone is home economics. It is one of my other favorite classes because you get to cook and sew and I always have a great time! This school year is going to be GREAT!!!ttfn

Blah Thursdays

Today so far I have just been hanging out at my house. Mostly sitting on my couch surfing the internet. Of course I could always be knitting, so when I'm done blogging I'n going to run downstairs and grab my knitting. Later I have ice skating! WHOO! Then I'm going to my friend Abbey's house. We havn't been friends long but she is really funny and awsome. Well not much to say today so ttfn!

Registration

Today I had to go to my school registration.URG!!! Last night I spent the night at my bffs house. We had so much fun! At 1 in the moring we got really hungery, so ofcourse we had to make something. So we had pinapple, pickels, and then we had tomatoes with rasberry vinigrette and lemon juice. I cant belive how good those tomatoes where! I thought the lemon juice would make it really gross but it made it really zinggy. Then today after registration we went to noodles and company with two of my other friends Abbey and Rebeckah. Then we walked over to Rebeckah's. After that I came home and and we had chicken, mac-n'-cheese, and veggies. Now I'm just watching a movie with my brother and writting in my blog! ttfn!

Busy Busy Tuedays

Today I have mucho going on. I have ice skating at 5:35-6:05. I am in Basic 3 out of 8. After I finish all the basics I will go on to free style or figure skating. I love ice skating it may hurt sometimes but it is always fun and enjoyable. Then as soon as ice skating is over my mom and I rush over to Knit Kack or Lollicup for knit night. For just starting my dream swatch I am pretty far if I might say so myself. I have already done four of the twists and I have had to start over 2 or 3 times already. Once I was using too big of needles. Then the second time I had to restart because I was twisting the wrong way.YIKES! G2G! I'll see you tonight at Knit night. ttfn

Monday Wonday

Today I hung out at my friend Kacey's. We played scrabble and did each others hair and makeup. Then I came home and I started the dream swatch. It is very beautiful so far. It is blue, green, orange, and brown. They seem like weird colors but they are adorable knitted up. Then my family went to Lone Star for dinner. My mom, step dad, lil brother, older brother, grandma, and i all went. The food was delish. I had a San Antonio, which was to die for! On the other hand our waitress was a complete oaf. First, she was like 10 minutes late just to take our drink orders! And get this her excuse was that she was making salad (ya right). Then she gave us our food, but no-one got salad.(which was really weird considering that was why she was late) So then later the manager came over and took two of the meals off the bill which was FANTASTIC! SOOO.. over all my day was pretty good considering I got to hang out at my friends and have a nice but wierd dinner with my whole family. Well ttfn!

Today I just lay back and hang out with my mom on her birthday. I continued knitting my scarf and Im about half way done. It is a beautiful green and yellow yarn. It was about $30 so it better be a prety scarf! Earlier I made my mom a card for her birthday. It was pink, green, and brown polka-dots. We got her a $30 itunes card. Thats it from me today. My newest projects

I have recently finished many projects. One of which is my itstty bitsty teeny weeny brown not polka dot headge hoggy! It is so adorable! I got the idea from Cathy from my knitting group. I made this adorable little guy brown and blue to match my newly done room. I also finished my new knitting bag. I made it out of scrap wool. I tried to make the colors greens, blues, pinks, or purples. When I finished it (before i felted it) it was twice my width and HUGE! Ofcourse it being my first bag I had to mess up SOMETHING. That being the handles. I acidentally sewed them on the wrong way. WHOOPS! Oh well everything can be fixed. Now I am working on a green scarf. It has a beautiful ribbing if I might say so myself. I got the yarn in New Mexico at lalanna wools. I went to New Mexico with my entire family during spring break! Well thats it for tonight! I'll see ya tommorrow!

I have heard everybody talking about their blogs. I never quite got the idea of them untill I asked my mom. She said it was a way for people to share their lives and interests. I figured that sounded fun so here I am writing my first blog post. I love to knit, play instuments, and just use creativity any where I can.
